More than kisses, letters mingle souls. ~John Donne
Slipped through his mail slot, he pressed the letter and flower between the leaves of Virgil's Aeneid.
Scrawled alongside her sleeping head, along with an offering of coffee. He tiptoed out, not wanting to wake her.
A record of a series of challenges. Hotly contested, and the outcome was debated for months afterward, in the end a draw was declared because O'Neill threatened to make them repeat their feats without the aid of the armbands if they didn't stop arguing.
Scribbled in one of Daniel's field notebooks. One of many pages covered in the three week period they stayed while withdrawing from the Goa'uld light.
Printed by Daniel and presented to Sam by her team. She stuck out her tongue and remarked that it would no doubt be the one thing that she'd be remembered for.
Found piled on Daniel's desk after he returned from getting coffee. He shook his head, and resolved to avoid taking vacations with Sam.
Salvaged from a cardboard box that was left on Sam's desk, curiosity got the better of her and she was rewarded with a stuffed toy that now sits next to her stapler.
One of many letters started, then crumpled up and tossed into the wastepaper basket.

I agonised for a while about ending the notes at "Meridian" because it feels like a bit of a downer and this is supposed to be schmoop, but then again I think it tells you everything you need to know about them, and how much they do really mean to one another.
the tic-tac-toe and hangman one cracks me up. Boy, were they bored!*g*
I think that would make a great "5 Things" fic:

Fantastic. Funny, and sad, and perfectly them. And made me think that Sam and Daniel would have genius children. :)
(Incidentally, have you ever tried to do the crossword at the beginning of Lost City?)
And cryptic crosswords are my sekrit obsession! I do the one in the paper every day :D I haven't done the Lost City One though - is there a screencap clear enough to make it out (OMG I'm such a geek!)
Ones that made me smile: The handkerchiefs, Sam's inability to take things easy, EVER.
Ones that made me grin: Emancipation, the Cassie post-it-notes ("my drawing is better"), Sam's coded messages during the briefing, Shroedinger's Tiger.
Ones that made me giggle: "the math is too extensive," 48 Hours (I never knew dry cleaning is always associated with Russia!), Upgrades (they are SO competitive!), The Light.
Ones that really, really touched me: 1969, FIAD, 100 Days, and Meridian.
The only two I didn't quite get: The "nubile girls" one. Not Shyla, surely? And it's too late in the "storyline" to be Brief Candle. And the Ancient one, which is seriously hilarious, but I can't figure out which amazing feat of hers Daniel is congratulating.
I am very carefully bookmarking this for the next Sam and Daniel friendship month I rec. And I'm reccing this now, on my own LJ, because this it too amazingly fantastic for anyone to miss!
The "nubile girls" note is maybe a bit convoluted :P In my mind, Daniel originally wrote the note as a joke post "Brief Candle" as I'm sure there was plenty of teasing for Jack once that was all over. Then of course after falling for a similar trick with Shyla, Sam couldn't resist rubbing it in his face.
If you were REALLY dedicated, you could translate the ancient note and then run it through a Latin translator :P But I'll give you all a broad hint. Jacob later refers to her feat in Reckoning Part 2 (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Stargate_SG-1/Season_8#Reckoning.2C_Part_1_.5B8.16.5D) :D
I'm so glad you enjoyed them - Sam and Daniel is my favourite dynamic on the show, and any chance I can, I'll write the two of them together.

I got a real laugh at Sam's coded notes and it took me a bit to figure out that Congrats certificate, but once I did, it had me giggling. It was such a treat to read this, and you're quite talented with the graphics! Wish I could do that...
Anyhow I've bookmarked this and I'm reccing it to my fellow Sam/Daniel fans. :) Is there going to be a "sequel" of sorts at some point?
There will definitely be a sequel, I work on this kind of graphic stuff while I've got a few moments here and there. It's always fun trying out something a bit different. I hope to post a new installment sometime in late May, once I get all my ficathons out of the way :D
